Physical exercise is an important component in the everyday life of youth and adolescence. It keeps us fit and provides a healthy break in a day of academic demands.

At LAS, students are able to take part in activities, clubs, service groups, theater & the arts, and sports teams. It makes for a full plate, but students who challenge themselves with such extra-curricular activities learn to discipline themselves and how to manage their time. Such structure often leads to better focus and improved grades.

Several sports are available for our students, and they are encouraged to join teams, improve their talents and stay in shape.

Being on a sports team allows students make to friends, strengthen bonds, learn new skills and have fun. It also teaches the important values of teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship.

SPORTSMANSHIP

This is a principal aspect of our Athletic program. We strive to teach tolerance, fair-play, how to win with grace and lose with dignity. Student-athletes are encouraged to be respectful of our referees, teammates, opposing players, fans and coaches. Players are also expected to avoid violent behavior and retaliation, and to be helpful and courteous at all times.  At the end of every year, along with other recognized accomplishments, the Sportsmanship Award is given to a deserving student-athlete with a 500chf gift provided by local shop HeftiSports.
