During the winter term (mid-Jan. - mid-March), all students at LAS are expected to ski or snowboard on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as part of the academic schedule.

Beginners will have lessons on both Tuesday and Thursday.

Intermediates and advanced will have lessons either Tuesday or Thursday, and the other day are expected to ski in groups of three with a check-in on the mountain.

Students also have the opportunity to ski on the weekend once they have checked out with a campus rover (they are based in BE, Beau Site and Savoy).

Students may also try out for the Alpine Ski Team, which has 3 to 5 ski races during the winter term and practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are also Freestyle teams for skiers and snowboarders. These groups meet once a week and there are typically a couple of freestyle events each winter.

Also, look for the avalanche report at the top of the Telecabine lift.

If the orange light is flashing at the base of the ski resort, it means the level is 3 or greater.
